In part 3 of our sermon series; Monsters under my bed, Pastor Will discuss the difference between Godly fear and ungodly fear.
Godly fear is an attitude of reverential awe of who God is. Godly fear is cause for full submission to his loving will and a deep reverence for his supreme power and judgment. There can also be a reasonable Godly fear of danger and difficult circumstances.
We then see that the most courageous Christians are those who feel afraid, but place their trust in God and obey his word. (Psalm 56:3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you)
Ungodly fear, on the other hand, causes us to question Jesus’ commitment to love us.
